MechanicalAptitudeTest.org is a small, independent test-preparation store. This page explains what information we collect when you use the site or purchase our practice bundle, what we do with it, and what we will never do with it. It’s written in plain English on purpose. If anything is unclear, email [email protected] and a human will answer.
What we collect
We collect the minimum we need to run a store and a practice-test platform:
- Order information. When you buy Mechanical Aptitude All-Access, we receive your name, email address, billing country, and a record of the purchase. Payment itself is handled by our payment processors (such as Stripe or PayPal) on their secure systems — your full card number never touches our servers and we never see or store it.
- Account information. A purchase creates a customer account so you can log in to your tests. That’s your email address and a password (stored only in encrypted, hashed form).
- Quiz scores and attempts. When you take a practice test, we store which test you took, your answers, your score, and when you took it. This is what powers the answer-review feature, your progress history, and unlimited retakes. Without it, the product wouldn’t work.
- Email address, if you opt in. If you choose to receive your free score report or study PDF by email, we store the address you give us for that purpose.
- Support correspondence. If you email us, we keep the thread so we can actually help you.
- Standard server logs. Like virtually every website, our server records basic technical data (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies, each with a job:
- Login and cart cookies. Standard WordPress and WooCommerce cookies that keep you signed in and keep your cart working during checkout.
- Signed quiz-review cookie. After you finish a practice test, a small cryptographically signed cookie lets the site securely show you the answer review for your own attempt. It identifies your quiz attempt on this site only — it does not track you around the web and contains no payment or profile data.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time. If you do, some features that depend on them — staying logged in, reopening an answer review — won’t work.
Analytics
We use a standard analytics service (Google Analytics) to see, in aggregate, which pages people visit, how they found the site, and where they get stuck. We use this to improve the site and the practice material. We do not use analytics data to identify individual visitors, and we do not combine it with your purchase records to build a profile of you.
How we use your information
- To deliver what you bought: process the order, create your account, and give you access to your tests for the full access period.
- To power answer review, score history, and retakes.
- To send essential transactional emails: your receipt, your login details, and important notices about your access.
- To answer your support emails.
- To send occasional study tips and offers only if you opted in — see “Your email choices” below.
- To improve the site and the question bank, using aggregate (not individual) data.
- To process refunds and prevent payment fraud.
What we never do
- We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information. To anyone. Ever.
- We never share your data with third parties for their marketing.
- We only share data with the service providers needed to run the store — payment processors, our email delivery service, and our web host — and only what they need to do their job.
- We never add you to a marketing list you didn’t ask to join.
Your email choices
Marketing email is opt-in only. Every marketing email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link that works immediately — no login, no “are you sure” pages. Unsubscribing from marketing does not affect transactional emails (receipts, access information), which we send because they’re part of the product you bought.
How long we keep your data
We keep order records for as long as accounting and tax rules require us to. We keep your quiz attempts and scores while your access is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards so your history is still there if you come back or re-purchase. You can ask us to delete your data sooner — see below.
Your rights — access, correction, deletion
Wherever you live — the United States, Canada, the EU, or anywhere else — you can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Privacy laws such as the CCPA (California), PIPEDA (Canada), and the GDPR (Europe) formalize these rights, but you don’t need to cite a statute: just email [email protected] from the address on your account and tell us what you’d like. We’ll respond within 30 days. Note that if you request deletion, we may still need to retain the minimal transaction records that tax and accounting laws require.
Children
This site is built for people preparing for employment, apprenticeship, and military entrance tests. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we’ll delete it.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS, is hosted on reputable managed infrastructure, and access to customer data is limited to the operator. Payments are processed by PCI-compliant payment providers. No system on the internet is perfectly secure, but we deliberately keep the amount of data we hold small — the best way to protect data is not to collect it in the first place.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we’ll say so plainly on the site rather than bury it.
